As a permanent resident who chose to come and live here it's upsetting, saddening, infuriating, to see the momentum of normalization bring the chance for meaningful action against the seditionists to a grinding halt. I understand the desire to look away, to pretend that everything's OK, and to appease the reactionaries, but Umair is right to keep pointing out the dangers that come with that approach.
